Olympic Esports Series 2023 Games

Are you ready for the nine titles that will be featured in the Olympic Esports Series? Brace yourselves, because here they are:

  • Chess.com’s chess platform
  • Gran Turismo 7 for sim racing motorsport
  • Archery’s Tic Tac Bow
  • Baseball’s WBSC eBASEBALL™: POWER PROS
  • Cycling’s Zwift
  • Dance’s Just Dance
  • Sailing’s Virtual Regatta
  • Tennis’s Tennis Clash
  • Taekwondo’s Virtual Taekwondo

Each event is supported by its respective governing body, such as the International Chess Federation and International Tennis Federation, and will be open to both professional and amateur players. It’s not just about the competitions though, there will also be panel discussions and technology exhibitions taking place alongside the events.

The Olympic Esports Series is co-chaired by IOC Vice President Ng Ser Miang and Singapore’s Minister of State for Culture, Community, Youth, Trade, and Industry Alvin Tan. The event will take place at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, which has successfully hosted many major sporting and virtual sport events over the years.

But wait, there’s more! The Olympic Esports Week 2023 is another step for the IOC as it explores the integration of esports into the Olympic Games. In fact, back in April 2021, the IOC hosted the Olympic Virtual Series during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. This just shows how the IOC is adapting to the changing times and embracing new technology to enhance the sporting experience.

Co-chair of the Olympic Esports Week Organising Committee, Mark Chay, expressed his excitement for the event, stating, “Hosting the Olympic Esports Week 2023 is a boost to our local esports ecosystem and strengthens Singapore’s status as the ideal destination for virtual sports.”

The Olympic Esports Week 2023 promises to be a groundbreaking event for virtual sports, further bridging the gap between physical and virtual sports and supporting the development of esports within the Olympic Movement. It’s time to get excited for the future of sports!
